Newborn Photos: Kyren, Jaden, & Jasmine

April 9th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 6:39 pm

We recently had the honor of working with a past wedding couple, Anthony & Mary. Mary arranged a mega-newborn session because she, her sister and her dear friend had all recently given birth. The three newborns in order of age are: Kyren (1.5 months old), Jaden (11 days old) & Jasmine (8 days old)!

We photographed all three newborns and their families during a 3 hour session! We were so happy for Anthony & Mary when we heard they were expecting and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them again on photos of their new baby boy, Kyren and to photograph their new “family of four.” It was so sweet to see Kyren’s big sister, Kairi (age 2) give him kisses and light up as I played “peek-a-boo” with her from behind the camera.

Jaden was such a sweet baby boy and he still had the adorable newborn-skin with a touch of lanugo (the fine downy-like hair he didn’t fully lose before birth -reminds me of our daughter…). He was quite alert, but still very much a new born.

Jasmine was the sweet, sleepy girl. She too has the beautiful downy hair (lanugo) and at only 8 days old she just wanted to be held and kept close to Mommy & Daddy. We had to work in little segments with her because she got cold fast, despite everyone else sweating under the studio lights! I have included a funny picture of her parents reacting to her tinkling on her daddy. We all had a great laugh!

Thank you to all the Mommies & Daddies for honoring us with the responsibility of photographing your precious children and new family bonds. We had fun and hope to work with you all again soon.

Engagement Photos: Hailey & Heidi

April 8th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 5:05 pm

We had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for Heidi & Hailey this past weekend. They are such a fun and lovely couple. I used to work with Heidi about 4 years ago now and was thrilled when she contacted us to say she was getting married! Here are a couple of fun images from their session.

Enjoy!

Bridal Show

April 2nd, 2008 by Rhiannon at 10:32 am

My dad took a snapshot of our “booth” at the bridal show this past Sunday. We were still setting things up but you can kind of get the idea …

setting up our booth for the bridal show

This was at the Rabobank Arena and the show was done in conjunction with the Bakersfield Jam’s game against the Austin Toros. Sorry to say the Jam, who had won their previous 3 games, lost (98 to 93). We did alright, though, especially as this wasn’t a highly publicized event. How well? Well let’s just say there are fewer dates available if you want us to be your wedding photographers. If you’re thinking about contacting us for a free consultation don’t wait. We’d love to hear from you!

Congratulations to Nick & Michelle!

We just got back from Nick & Michelle’s beautiful wedding. We had so much fun photographing their wedding -we especially enjoyed walking around downtown and taking fun shots. Even though we’re busy getting last-minute things done for tomorrow’s bridal show -I just had to post some pictures!!! So enjoy these few & check back soon for lots more!

“Trash the Dress” Sessions

March 26th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 7:08 am

I’ve been up all night working on images for a new slideshow on our site. I’m exhausted, but am too excited about the images to sleep! So I thought I’d post some from a “Trash the Dress” session we did last year. It was such a great session; very fun and creative for us. We hope to book at least 10 post-wedding shoots this year. Contact us for more information about post-wedding sessions!

I think it looks amazing to have the juxtaposition of the beautiful dress and nature -raw and stunning. I also like the grunge look too. The awesome couple all dressed up, or just her, sitting on a metal staircase in a grungy alley… If only I could fit back in my dress! Maybe I’ll motivate myself by commissioning one of our favorite photographers to shoot an anniversary session.

Enough day dreaming. I need to head off to bed and really dream…

Enjoy these images from Oliverio & Isabelle’s Post-Wedding/Trash the Dress session at the beach.
