Congratulations Jeremy & Renee!

May 13th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 2:22 pm

We had a blast working with Jeremy & Renee on their wedding day! It was a great day to be a wedding photographer. The weather was great, the bride’s dress was almost as beautiful as her and everyone was a joy to work with. Their wedding was on April 26th at the Noriega House. It’s been beautifully redecorated and is a gorgeous place to have weddings!

There are so many great images to choose from it’s almost impossible to pick just a few to share! So here are a few more than a few from Jeremy & Renee’s fantastic day:

This first one of Renee is stunning. I’m so glad I got the chance to sneak this in moments before the ceremony!

All the young boys were having a blast “hamming-it-up” on the dance floor. This is just such a cute photo of one of Renee’s sons. He and a few boys were taking turns running and sliding on the dance floor. Alex got down low and got some great shots of the fun!

There are a lot of romantic images from their first dance, but I just love the bubbles and Renee’s expression in this one! It takes me back to the joy and excitement of their day…

Family Portraits

April 25th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 9:06 am

We recently took a series of portraits for a family on the day they baptized their youngest son. They figured they would be all dressed up and extended family would already be gathered, so why not take family portraits?!

We started with Nicholas, the star of the day, in his baptismal gown. Then we took a series of portraits of different family groupings and a few large family group shots.

We were referred to this family because we did a few sessions for Nicholas’ cousin, J.D. last year (his newborn & 6 months old portraits). It was fun to see how big J.D. is now! (They grow and change so fast!!!) It’s always great when past clients refer us to their family & friends. So thank you Diana for telling your sister-in-law to give us a call! It was great seeing you three again.

Here are just a few from the session:

Another version of this image (it just looked like it could be from the 40s!)

If you need family portraits please Contact us! We can meet at a local park, or interesting location -we even travel to special places like the beach or the mountains. We also offer “studio” sessions like we did for this family -where we bring back drops & lighting and set up a mini studio in the comforts of your home.

Engagement Photos with Mary & Max

April 24th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 7:16 pm

Some time has passed since we took Max & Mary’s engagement photos, but we’ve been very busy photographing and designing albums and well, we have fallen behind on our blog!
We meet with Mary yesterday to check out her ceremony & reception site (a beautiful family-owned area along the Kern River).  We planned the wedding day time line for photos and got really excited about the big day!

So here are some of their engagement photos to share with you all!

Family Portraits with Matt, Laura, Sebastian & Saige

April 12th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 11:38 pm

We recently had the great pleasure of meeting up with my best friend Laura and her wonderful family In Claremont for a family portrait session. We walked around downtown and on the campuses of the Claremont Colleges taking advantage of all the beautiful places to take photos. Laura and her husband Matt have two adorable children, Sebastian (three) and Saige (18 months). It can be a challenge to get two young children to sit still for 30 seconds, let alone at the same time! But we like challenges and, really, they were pretty easy on us and really cooperative (usually!). We got most of the “good portrait shots” done right away so they could get to the fun stuff like running and playing!

When planning for the session Matt and Laura said, “We just want a few good pictures of the kids.” Famous last words!!! We got them to take a few with the kids, and we “tortured them” with too many great images to choose from when they came today to pick some out. They ordered a few of their favorites and a large panoramic print of the kids running. We can’t wait until we can deliver the prints to them!

Here are a few of our favorites from the session, including one Matt named, “Dreamer” (the sepia toned print of Saige looking angelic while hugging Sebastian).

Enjoy!

Newborn Photos: Kyren, Jaden, & Jasmine

April 9th, 2008 by Rhiannon at 6:39 pm

We recently had the honor of working with a past wedding couple, Anthony & Mary. Mary arranged a mega-newborn session because she, her sister and her dear friend had all recently given birth. The three newborns in order of age are: Kyren (1.5 months old), Jaden (11 days old) & Jasmine (8 days old)!

We photographed all three newborns and their families during a 3 hour session! We were so happy for Anthony & Mary when we heard they were expecting and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them again on photos of their new baby boy, Kyren and to photograph their new “family of four.” It was so sweet to see Kyren’s big sister, Kairi (age 2) give him kisses and light up as I played “peek-a-boo” with her from behind the camera.

Jaden was such a sweet baby boy and he still had the adorable newborn-skin with a touch of lanugo (the fine downy-like hair he didn’t fully lose before birth -reminds me of our daughter…). He was quite alert, but still very much a new born.

Jasmine was the sweet, sleepy girl. She too has the beautiful downy hair (lanugo) and at only 8 days old she just wanted to be held and kept close to Mommy & Daddy. We had to work in little segments with her because she got cold fast, despite everyone else sweating under the studio lights! I have included a funny picture of her parents reacting to her tinkling on her daddy. We all had a great laugh!

Thank you to all the Mommies & Daddies for honoring us with the responsibility of photographing your precious children and new family bonds. We had fun and hope to work with you all again soon.
